Entel DT985FF Firefighter Radio

Also known as the DTEx the Entel DT985FF MED approved wireless two-way radio meets stringent specifications suitable for fire fighters. There are two models in the series, this DT985FF and the DT844FF. One, the DT985FF is UHF and the DT844FF is VHF operation.

Being developed for fire fighters and that type of use, ATEX standards play a very big part of the specifications of the DT985FF radios. This radio is ATEX II 2G Ex ib IIC T4 Gb compliant and the other handset in the series is similar, so if this DT985FF ATEX spec is not for you check the other handset out.

The screen on the DT985FF Firefighter radio is an OLED screen. While it's not colour, there is a reason! The black and white high resolution is more easily read than other alternatives so it's a good choice for fire fighting.

As you will find, the DT985FF MUST really be waterproof and submersible for its use. So Entel made this wireless radio IP68 compatible. This equates to up to 2 metres deep in water for up to four hours. We think you'll agree that is a great specification and the highest in this type of equipment available.

The DT985FF is an analogue and digital handset, whereas the DT844FF is analogue only.

Examining the audio output you might be surprised to note that this radio (in fact both of them) is a full 2 watts output through the speaker, and importantly, Entel have included an audio filter that removes the noise from the audio for clear concise and easily heard audio. 

Entel are a great company that 'stand behind' their products and that's one reason we sell them. But Entel also innovate and where the battery is concerned they have done it again! The Li-ion battery can achieve up to 18 1/2 hours of use and up to twice as long as competitive wireless radios or walkie talkies out there, although we should not call the DT985FF a walkie talkie!

The military standards are used throughout the 2 way radio industry, and that's so that the handset can be robust and stand up to the rigours of the harsh life they get in use.

These particular radios are all made to MIL-STD 810C/D/E/F/G ratings. It can handle  shock, dust, vibration, moisture easily.
