Choosing Correct Two Way Radios
It all sounds so simple. You open a browser, search the internet, buy some 'walkie talkies' and hey presto... serious issues!
There are thousands of customers that simply buy a two-way radio by searching the internet and rapidly either buying on price, or a random choice without really understanding that things from that point could go dangerously wrong at worst and at best, they could end up with equipment that cannot do the job that they were bought for. If you really don't understand, or worse, the information you have is incomplete then the result will generally not be good.
Having the right information allows any customer to make an informed decision. But you might be surprised how many customers we talk to that made the wrong choice of communications device because they were not advised or worse were advised incorrectly by companies all too willing to make the sale... any sale!
Radio shopper have actually been in business since the end of the 1980's! So understanding what we sell, is essential to our cause of helping customers with relevant and accurate information about radio choices without the usual bias that many communication companies have.
Its one reason why we're still in business.
But there are some vitally
important choices when making the decision of what
equipment to use SAFELY on your site.
And of course
questions about licensing or license free (PMR446),
power output, range, operating time on battery,
charging, accessories and so much more then become
important. Many customers buy radios for lone worker and
man down situations when someone might be injured,
attacked or had some other health or safety issue. And
its imperative that the equipment bought is set up
correctly and can actually support the level of service
that you need.
Making the wrong choice can also be catastrophic and fatal. Using regular wireless radio when ATEX intrinsically safe radios are required could cause an explosion.
