Entel crated the DX series of two-way radios that are small, efficient, have good pricing, but do NOT compromise quality. The series comprises of the following handsets, although the DX446e and L models we discuss here are just PMR446 license free units.
Models:
The DX482 is UHF and licensed, the DX422 is VHF and licensed, the DX425 ADV is VHF and licensed and lastly the DX485 is UHF and licensed operation also.
One of the best things about the DX400 series is that they are ALL submersible two-way radios, in fact some of the best submersible 2 way radios you can buy. Every wireless radio in this series can handle up to two metres depth in water for an amazing four hours under water.
Other features include the ability of every model, either analogue or digital operation and that can be so useful if you're moving from older radios to the newer digital technology... and you should!
The DX400 series in general are some of the more popular wireless radios we sell and it's easy to see why when you check the specifications. And there are so many great features particularly when operated digitally, things like:
- Incredibly clear and noise free audio
- Longer battery life
- Double the channels available
- Simple to use but flexible
The battery used Li-ion ad typically those types of battery, with the technology that Entel have embedded in the radios makes for a very long battery life, therefor longer use per charge. In fact you might even get twice the user time compared to similar wireless or walkie talkie radios.
The ADV models of this series, allow for more menu options if you need them, along with things like groups and even contact lists right there in the handset. Indeed the ADV models offer powerful all round solutions suitable for most users.
On this series the audio especially in digital mode is excellent and crystal clear. The difference is hard to believe until you try the digital audio yourself. And there is other good news on the audio front, all DX series radios have a 2 Watt output to the speaker that most users will find great in noisy work areas.

One feature that is great is the doubling of the number of usable channels available. For the DMR446 for example normally in analogue mode there are eight channels but in digital mode there are 16 channels.
