Entel HT649 Marine MED Two Way Radio

The Entel HT649 GMDSS waterproof submersible handset is a MED certified survival craft radio. The unit has the important wheel marker for EU registered marine vessels and merchant shipping regulations of 2016.

The HT649 is developed with specific features that are designed for marine use. features like scanning the active channel, Entel VOX enabled audio accessory that allows for completely hands free use. Just talk and the handset will transit automatically. There's also a key lock to avoid accidental operation of the device.

The channels provide all Int, USA and CAN marine channels. VHF.

The battery on the HT649 allows for the use of this two-way radio for using this radio longer than standard batteries found on other devices. On the HT649 it is a Li-ion type  and uses Entel's intelligent technology to achieve what other radios do not. Importantly,  Li-ion has no memory effect like some batteries so it will always charge fully.

As you can imagine, being a radio developed for marine use, it is IP68 standard, and that means that it's waterproof for two metres deep and up to four hours immersed and the radio will still be fully operational. IP68 ensures vibration, knocks, dust and moisture do not affect operation in any way.

The LCD display is clear and simple to use, and  its perfectly readable. The display can show various settings like signal strength, battery level and that sort of thing. The keypad is similar to the HT644 and is a reduced key keypad and allows some settings like channel number or important weather channel information among other things to be easily chosen.
