Hytera BD505 Digital Two Way Radio

Hytera BD5 series of DMR digital two way radios are designed from the top down to be easily used in a business environment. The series comprises of the BD505, and the BD615 also (also in our shop) is part of the series. The BD505 shown here is a VHF or UHF digital radio and is licensed in the UK. Also supports analogue so its a great unit for migration from older analogue systems through to digital use.

You will always achieve a better result with DMR digital radios. Firstly the audio you will find is very clear and there is far less noise in the signal (often translated in to noise in the audio of analogue devices) than with analogue devices. However, for customers moving to digital technology, the BD5 series also handle analogue modes too.

The BD5 series are very robust and can stand up to difficult environmental situations, basically they will take the knocks that some other 2 way radios might not.

There is no display on the BD505 but the BD585 has a display if you need that feature, it all adds to the cost, so if the display really is not needed, save some money and buy the BD505!

For battery usage, the technology used is TDMA that can create a longer battery life than some other handsets. if you use the regular 1500mAh battery expect around 18 hours of use and there is a 2000mAh battery available also.

Like most wireless radios these days the BD5 series  are built on MIL-STD 810 G and also are protected to IP54 for water and dust ingress etc.

The BD505 also has a channel announcement when you select a particular channel on the radio which can be useful if the radio is hidden under clothing.
