Motorola R7 Series Two Way Radios

The Motorola MOTOTRBO R7 Capable Two Way radio is a UHF or VHF handset and is part of a series of high quality radios from Motorola. Like many of the latest technology two-way radios the features are extensive. Versions include an R7A that has no display or keypad, the R7 Capable - that is an intermediary level and the radio is upgradable but optionally to the full R7 Premium. The premium edition includes every feature that can come on the radio and includes a keypad and display. The display is full colour LCD.

The overall specifications do vary dependent on the exact model of R7 that is being purchased, so these specific features may or may not be available as standard on all walkie talkie models.

Analogue and digital modes are available in all models - useful for moving from analogue legacy systems to digital. Full keypad and large display.

The radio is submersible and protected with IP68 standards that makes the unit safe in water at 2 metres for up to two hours. However, it is also waterproof to IP66 that protects the radio from a water jet concentrated pressure level. Typically for quality Motorola radios the MIL-STD 810 is applicable and helps to protect the R7 series creating a very robust design.

For safety there is a lone worker feature and an emergency button integrated to R7 radios, and also a remote monitoring ability for checking on users if there are suspected issues.

Surprisingly there are up to one thousand channels available. VHF power output is 5W and UHF is 4W output which is typical for these type of 2 way radios.

Bluetooth 5.2 is included and is compatible with audio and data. Also Wi-Fi 2.4/5GHz compatibility is included and WPA3 Wi-Fi security compliant protocol.

Audio is excellent and includes an audio feedback suppressor, along with the IMPRES audio processing that ensures excellent clarity. Audio output is either 1W or 3W. The audio is Customisable through profiles.

Battery life as you might expect is incredible at up to 28 hours of use.
