Motorola XT420 Two Way Radio

The Motorola XT420 comes from the extremely successful XT400 series of business two-way radios that replaced the XTNid series and thankfully is compatible with that older series of radio handset so if you use the older series of handset there's no problem.

This XT420 radio is very similar to the XT460 that is part of the same series of handset, except that the XT420 walkie talkie has no buttons or display on the front of the unit. This is of course a PMR446 UHF handset and needs no licence in the UK to operate so can be used as soon as you receive the radio once you have charged the battery. License free and no hassle!

Do note that the XT420 and the XT460 are both analogue radios. What that means is that the audio quality will not be as good as a digital radio, and you might find some features on digital radios that are not available for analogue type handsets. For everyday use in regular business it will make little difference - and we sell literally thousands of these XT wireless radios every year.

And if your working space has water or dust then the XT420 is fine, it is IP55 protected, along with being made to MIL-STD 810 C,D,E F and G specifications. But do not expect the radio to be submersible for any real depth in water for hours - this is not really the best handset for water resistance.
